The Reformed Church Praise Team, our worship band, is a talented group of people from our congregation. The Praise Team has performed at the Opera House in Clayton, the Coffee House in Theresa, and the Music Fest in Redwood. We have also participated in the Densmore Church summer series on Wellesley Island. Our hope is that the music we play and sing each Sunday will lead your hearts in worship and that God will be glorified in all that we do.

The mission our church is simple and Biblical. One that begins and ends with Jesus... To belong to the Reformed Church of the 1000 Isles is to be Living, Learning and Spreading the Love of Christ. The love of Christ is our reason for gathering, uniting, and being the church. His life, death, resurrection, and continued Lordship call us together in the fulfillment of His mission. We are all called to be disciples and followers of Christ, as well as to make disciples and followers of Christ. His love sustains and compels us. To live out the love of Christ is to treat others with that same humble, serving love. We are to extend Christian love to each other within the church community, as well as the community we are called to live in, both locally and globally. To live out the love of Christ is to engage in loving fellowship, as well as to humbly serve. To learn the love of Christ is to actively engage in the process of Christian growth – of striving to become holy as He is holy. This learning involves growing in love and knowledge of Scripture, prayer, and worship. Time spent enjoying the love of Christ allows one to grow into the love of Christ. To learn the love of Christ is to grow in Christ-likeness. To spread the love of Christ is to invite others to enjoy the rich love that God freely offers all people. This love is found only in relationship with Christ, and experienced in community with His followers. It is our desire that all should come to know and experience the love of Christ. It is our joy and duty to show others this gospel love by both our spoken and lived out message of love and invitation. To spread the love of Christ is to evangelize our community and world. Values – to help us live into our vision •It’s all about God •People are more important than programs •Simple is better than complex •Spiritual growth precedes numerical growth •Every member in ministry •Vibrant leadership •Mission , not missions •Transformation is non-negotiable, and it comes only from God
Office Hours are Monday through Thursday 8am - 1pmPastor Scott came to serve our church family as Pastor back in 2008 along with his wife Tanya, and their two sons Zach and Carter. He is a big sports fan - especially soccer and basketball, and often finds himself playing along, watching his boys excel, or coaching young people. He counts himself as blessed to be able to serve the Lord and His people with joy and passion.
Ladies Book Club - Who doesn't love to curl up with a good book? Well, a few ladies from the congregation thought it would be fun to get together to read and discuss a Christian novel once a month as a group. So we encouraged other women from the congregation to join us to meet at someone's home, for a casual evening of discussion, snacks and fellowship. We now have read many books together. We began with Francine River's Lineage of Grace - five stories of unlikely women who changed eternity. We had all previously read about these women in the Bible, but reading Lineage of Grace gave them new life, making them real women - women we could relate to. Reading and discussing as a group sometimes gives you new insights or a different perspective on a subject. So if you are someone who can't put a good book down, consider joining us.
Children of the Reformed Church are being trained up at the DOCK (Discipling of Christ’s Kids). Children are learning that God gave His Word to teach, rebuke, correct, train, and equip us to be His people. Our students know that the Bible is a library of 66 different books divided into two parts--the Old and New Testaments. They have named, located and briefly discussed each of the 39 books of the Old Testament. The children (and their families) are learning the books of the Bible. Three have mastered the Old Testament and two have learned both the Old and the New Testament books. The three classes, taught by Tracey Duclon, Tanya Nyp and Judy Keeler, are learning about the Bible and major stories through the use of two new video series, “Through the Bible with Buck Denver” and “Friends & Heroes” as well as using their own Bibles. The kids began to study the New Testament last year. Participants continue to enjoy puppet plays, Christian music and story videos, Sunday School songs, crafts, snacks and learning games in their quest to learn more about God and His Word.
Our Bible study meets each Wednesday from 9:00am - 10:00am. Pastor Scott leads the group in reading and discussing the scriptures for the following Sunday. All are welcome, no matter your familiarity with the Bible.
Office Hours are Monday and Wednesday 8am - 2:30pm and Thursday 8am-1pm.I have been happily married for 22 years to my wonderful husband Brian. We have 2 children, Ryan & Lauren, that are now both in college. I previously served as the church secretary from 1991 to 2001. I enjoyed my job, but I left to raise my children. A little less than a year ago the position opened up again, and being that both our children are away at college, I welcomed the opportunity to return to the position.

The BasicsWe believe that God created the world and everything in it, including human beings. God created a perfect world. In the beginning, there was no sin--no hatred, no disunity, and no death. But God also allowed humans to make their own choices. The first humans, Adam and Eve, disobeyed God, allowing sin to enter God's perfect world. From then on, every human has been born with sinful desires that lead to separation from God. But the story doesn't end there. God loves the world and the people in it--so much, in fact, that he made a plan to take away the guilt of our sin. God sent his son, Jesus, into the world as a human. Jesus gave his life to pay the price for sins he didn't commit. Jesus accepted the punishment for our sins so that we don't have to. Three days after Jesus was killed, God brought Jesus to life again, defeating the power of death and evil. Jesus still lives today, eternally in heaven with God the Father. One day he will come back to earth to put an end to evil--sin, death, and pain--and renew all things. He will gather all who have believed in him from every time and place to live with him forever. Our faith is centered in God's love for us demonstrated in Jesus Christ, his son. When we accept Jesus' sacrifice for us and commit our lives to following him, God sees us as perfect, the way we were first created to be. We cannot manufacture such faith on our own; it is the result of God's Spirit working within us. The Reformed View of Christian FaithIn the Reformed view, the final authority is the Bible-known as the Holy Scriptures, the Word of God. The Reformed perspective is centered in the overwhelming love of God toward us. We believe that God is three in one--God the father, God the son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that we are saved by grace alone through faith, not by what we think or do to earn God's favor. Our good works don't earn our salvation, but are a way to thank God for this free gift of salvation. The Reformed Church in America celebrates two sacraments: baptism and the Lord’s supper. They remind us of God's promises to us and help us to claim those promises as our own. The RCA is confessional, which means that together we have statements of belief, called creeds and confessions. These statements guide our understanding of faith and shape its practice. The RCA is "Reformed and always reforming," earnestly seeking to know the mind of Christ as it strives to be faithful in a changing, complex, and often troubled world. The RCA's position papers on contemporary issues provide guidance to the members of the church and are a part of the church's witness in society.

For over one hundred and fifty years, The Reformed Church of the Thousand Isles has been letting her light shine in Alexandria Bay, New York. Prior to the church’s organization, the Reverend Dr. George Bethune, a summer visitor to the area in the mid 1840’s, observed that there were no regular religious services or Sunday school classes offered in the village. He established a Christian education program and sent the Reverend Jerome Davenport to serve as a missionary. During Reverend Davenport’s ministry funds were raised for the building of the church, the first edifice of Christian worship in the area. On August 1, 1851, the building was authorized and dedicated as the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of the Thousand Isles.Since that time, The Reformed Church has continued to minister to the Alexandria Bay community and beyond through mission work, the services of the Women’s Guild, Christian education, youth programs, music, pastoral counseling, outreach, congregational fellowship and worship services. We fully expect God’s hand to continue to lead us to serve in this community through the next one hundred and fifty years and beyond.
